Is Zulqernain seeking asylum?

In his first and only statement after arriving at England Zulqernain has told that he can not tell what kind of threats he got from unidentified persons as he is afraid about his family protection. He said these threats forced him to retire and come to England for his safety. He asked to help his family back at Pakistan. He said that he got his passport from Team Management by saying that he want to buy a "mobile sim". In the reply of "Why you didn't tell team management about these threats as you are bound to tell them as per code of conduct?" I think that would be worse for me and for my family and i did what i think is right for me, my family and my country. My country is like my mother i cant sell my country and cant do what was asked to do in 5th ODI. He added that he has only his daily salary in his pocket as he arrived at England, which i had spent on fare and my accommodation. Immigration Authorities were very good with me, i have visited England many times for the county cricket and i have a valid visa for the England. Immigration Authorities asked me to hire a lawyer which i could afford at now. Zulqernain did not confirm that he is seeking "asylum" in England. He also did not contact to Pakistan High Commissioner at England.
On the other side ICC and PCB are very angry with the action of Zulqernain and both are looking to emboss Life Time Ban on Zulqernain Haider.
According to former test cricketers of Pakistan, Zulqernain is only seeking "asylum" in England and he is not a class player that he could receive offers or threats of Match Fixing. He can't take Pakistan Cricket Team on Victory stand with his performance. In current team only, Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq are key player which can be very useful for the match fixers. They refused to agree upon the statement given by Zulqernain.
