Hearing of Spot fixing case against Salman Butt, Muhammad Aamir and Muhammad Asif will be held from 6 to 11 January 2011 in Qatar, Doha.
Application for the delay in hearing by Salman Butt is already rejected by ICC as the lawyers of Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Aamir were against this delay.
According to some newspapers Salman Butt is not in a position to defend his case properly in ICC. Changing of lawyers and statements in media against ICC are the factors which might go wrong in the case of Salman Butt. ICC corruption unit have gathered a number of proofs especially against Ex-Captain of Pakistan Salman Butt which included camera footages, some untold evidences and a long interview with Mazhar Majeed (Main Character of Spot Fixing Scandal). This English newspaper also claimed that Salman Butt will get a Ban of 7 years with a heavy amount of penalty in this spot fixing case, but Muhammad Aamir and Muhammad Asif can face a ban of 2 years only.
Muhammad Aamir rejected the rumors that he was offered a deal by ICC with which he can able to safe his cricket carrier.
According to me, Salman Butt and Muhammad Aamir might get banned from International and Domestic cricket and get heavy amount of penalty, but Muhammad Asif can get less penalty or a less period of ban or might be proven completely innocent.
Let’s see what will happen in Doha? ICC has given some relaxation to PCB for announcing the 30 possible players for the world cup. Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik and Daneesh Kaneria are the players which are under observation by the ICC in match fixing.
